What are Gardens Pools?
Gardens funding pools allow communities to fund projects through conviction-based voting:

  • Members allocate voting power to support proposals they believe in

  • Support grows stronger over time (50% every 7 days)

  • Sustained backing carries more weight than quick decisions

  • The system rewards genuine, persistent support

Designed to fund and reward community-led proposals that advance Bread Cooperative’s broader network goals. Initiatives could include new platforms, research, content production, collaborative gatherings, or other ventures that bring collective benefits to Bread Cooperative’s network.

  • Value Alignment: projects must demonstrate alignment with Bread Cooperative’s core principles, dual power, economic democracy, mutual aid, transparent governance

  • Community Benefit: Each proposal must show how it benefits the broader Bread Cooperative ecosystem

  • Maximum Funding Request: 500 BREAD? (to be determined by community)

  • Disputes: Proposals that fail to demonstrate alignment with Bread Cooperative’s values may be disputed and reviewed by the community

  1. Become a Bread Cooperative Community Member
    • Hold $BREAD tokens to participate in governance
  2. Access the Pool
    • Go to the Bread Cooperative Community Initiatives Pool on Gardens
    • Stake your $BREAD tokens to activate your voting rights
  3. Support or Create Proposals
    • Browse existing proposals and allocate your conviction to those you support
    • Create your own proposal if you have an initiative that aligns with Bread Cooperative’s values
  4. Watch Your Conviction Grow
    • The longer you support a proposal, the stronger your voting power becomes—growing 50% every 7 days

  • Pool Type: Funding – proposals that meet the required conviction will be granted funds from the pool

  • Token for Voting: $BREAD – weighted voting based on token holdings

  • Spending Limit: 500 BREAD – maximum amount that can be requested in a single proposal

  • Minimum Conviction: TBD – percentage of total voting power required for proposals to pass

  • Conviction Growth: 7 days – support for proposals strengthens over time (50% per 7 days)

  • Collateral to Create/Dispute: TBD – prevents spam proposals/disputes

  • Ruling Time: TBD – time for community review of disputed proposals

  • Default Abstain Resolution: Rejected – if no decision is made, the proposal is automatically rejected
